Hey I'm Jen, I have a 21 year autistic son who wants me to help him to set up online dating so he can meet someone or even meet new friends near where we live.... The trouble is there are so many dodgy websites and disability app that have bad reviews and the last thing I want to do is put him danger. So has anyone got a good dating website they can recommend... Thanks
Jen

    Hi @Lestat77

Thanks for posting, I hope you are well.

Have you ever come across the Outsiders Dating and Social Club platform? That might be worth looking into, here's their site.

    Hi @Lestat77 :)

In terms of meeting new friends, meetup.com may be of interest. It allows you to find groups and events in your area based around common interests.

The dating app Bumble also has a feature for finding friends called Bumble BFF, which might be of interest. You can put in some information about yourself and what you enjoy, and then 'match' with others that you'd like to chat to.

There's always a risk with both dating and socialising that people could be nasty, or not be who they say they are. It's therefore important that you take steps to protect yourself, such as:
    • not giving away too much personal information, such as full name, employment, address and so on before you trust the person
    • always meet in a public place
    • make sure your son lets you know exactly where he'll be, and at what times
    • report any users you're suspicious of
