Hi there
The first point of call would be speaking to your gp -
There are many different signs and characteristics of Autism. As janer said, you can speak to your GP to ask if they will refer you but before doing that you should start by doing some research yourself. If your GP agrees to refer you do be aware that the waiting lists for the assessment is a few years at least.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @Sparklebright63
Thanks for reaching out to us. I appreciate that it must feel daunting initially to recognise symptoms in yourself. As @janer1967 and @poppy123456 have said, your first point of call would be your GP. Your GP can then refer you to other services if they deem necessary. I hope this helps to clarify your next steps but if you have any other questions or just need our support with navigating this, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again soonCommunity Volunteer Adviser with professional knowledge of education, special educational needs and disabilities and EHCP's.
