    Hi @Tre

Welcome to Scope's forum. It is great to see you have joined us. Unfortunately, I have no advice to provide other than to talk to people you trust. However, I did want to say why oh why is this too often a common experience for people with chronic conditions :(

I am so glad you found the courage to reach out to us. I always appreciate how much courage it must take to reach out, especially for the first time. If there's anything specific we can do to support you, please don't hesitate to let us know!

    Hi,
The first step to care and support would be a needs assessment. Once this is done it will determine whether help/support can be given. You will also have a financial assessment, this is to work out how much you'll have to pay towards the cost of the care you receive. The rest can be paid through direct payments. The money from this can only be used on what's stated in your needs assessment. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/money-work-and-benefits/personal-budgets/
