Like many of us in the community, as a child and young adult, I underwent many, many surgical procedures in an effort to improve my physical situation. PTSD was not in my vocabulary or that of the medical professionals that interacted with me.

This article touches upon feelings that I am familiar with but had no name for at the time.

I suffer with this quite bad . It’s all related to what I went through as a child at school and being in hospital lots of times

Have you spoken with anybody about how you feel, @Molliepw96? It helps to talk about experiences and bring them into the light.

Can definitely resonate with this @Richard_Scope!

Although I don't have CP, I have had doctors tell me my Endometriosis symptoms aren't as severe as I say they are, or have completely dismissed them. Remarks like, "oh that's normal for a women to be in pain during her cycle, just take some medication and you'll be fine" have really stuck with me overtime. I now feel as though I need to validate myself constantly when going to the doctors/hospital appointments. It's a shame but I try to remember that I'm my body's own best advocate and no one knows how I physically feel, except me!
