Hi there ๐Ÿ˜Š.ย  I have been reading your posts a few times now and the support from each other is amazing. I myself have applied for pip, took from August until 29th January.ย  I had a phone assessment on January 4th. I was given 6 points. 2 for managing toilet needs, 2 for reading as I have dyspraxia and need a colour overlay and 2 for mixing with others.ย  I also suffer anxiety, and had two major operations last year, one whipple surgery and bowel surgery with stoma. My energy levels are low and anxiety ever since. Apparently I can communicate because I was clear communication and good memory,my memory is short term not long term. I have have good budgeting skills,no I told them this and the bad debt I got into. And the medication which I forget nearly everyday, my husband has to constantly remind me. How do they know what my memory and anxiety is like, not with me everyday. And it is bad ,its frustrating. This is my first pip apple.ย  Thank you. ๐Ÿ˜Šย

    Hi,
Your first step is to request the Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) you should put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. Then include a couple of real world examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you. Include detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.
Just telling then you can't do that activity isn't enough.
The most likely outcome of the MR is the decision will stay the same but we have had some members that have had a decision in their favour at this stage.
Timescale are between 2-12 weeks, sometimes longer.
It also helps to have some understanding the PIP descriptors and the criteria, so start here. https://pipinfo.net/

Thank you Poppy. It was citizens advice who done my form. When the assessment was taking place, she asked me did I have support in school,I said think so which was in the 70s. But I tend to have short term memory problems, I can put something somewhere like money and 5 minutes later totally forgot where I put it,this is constant, leave irons and cooker on,my husband always double checks and always forgetting my meds. My anxiety ๐Ÿ˜ซย  is bad and long term. I will ring citizens advice and ask if they can help with writing to pip . Thank you again ๐Ÿ’“ย

Thank you Mike. Yeah I heard Turn 2us were good. My short term memory, I leave electrical items on,but all because I'm dysplasia and anxiety.ย  I'm always sleeping due to operations I had last year. Thank you for your advice.ย

Leaving electrical items on will not score you any points.ย

It's difficult to know what is relevant with pip. I have dyspraxia,my memory is bad,I have anxiety term, don't like crowds, speaking to people. Had 2 major operations last year,I take creon up to 8 or 9 a day, and the side effects are awful, sleep alot in day from fatigue. I have a stoma also from diverticulitis.ย  My energy levels are low. I've put all this and how my husband helps me,he does cook, cleaning. It's hard getting pip. I had dla stopped years ago because I smiled in assessment, a nervous smile. I was belittled in one tribunal, because I didn't take my medication and order ,because of my learning difficulties.ย  I gave up ,didn't have the mental energy to appeal again .Thank you xx

My husband does the cooking, he doesn't trust me. ๐Ÿ˜’ I leave cooker on, I basically nearly set the kitchen on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ once. It's due to my anxiety and dyspraxia.ย

So you need to explain what the risks are if you attempt to do the cooking and why itโ€™s is therefore necessary for your husband to do it.

That sounds more viable, thank you both. I'm not very good with wording and how to put it. I will write it down ,I wish I'd kept a diary x
