Pip assessment Tuesday. What questions can I expect? Are they friendly and patient?

Morning all! Hope everyone is well! I've got my phone assessment Tuesday and I'm getting more anxious as each day grows closer as I really need this.
Could you please let me know some of the questions I'm to expect? And are they friendly and patient?
I tend to over think so I'm hoping joining this forum will help me prepare and put my mind to rest . Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Welcome to the community!
I'm sure that some of our members who've been through the telephone assessment will be along to give you some advice and support soon.
It's difficult to say exactly what questions they'll ask, but it can be a good idea to read back through the PIP descriptors (pipinfo.net).
Did you keep your form? Some people also find it helpful to read back through their form to see what evidence they provided.
The assessor should be polite, yes. Some people do have negative experiences unfortunately, but many people have more positive ones too. Remember that you can always ask the assessor to repeat a question if you didn't hear or understand it, and that you can take your time with answering the questions.
It's perfectly normal to feel anxious about the assessment, but try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know!). You can only do your best, and there are options to challenge the decision should you not get the award you were hoping for.

There are no set questions they will ask things around what you put on your form and about how you function against the descriptors
The best prep you can do 7s look again at the descriptors and have ready 2 real examples of what happens when you last tried to do the task
Detail like where you were what you did , any support or aids , what was the consequences can you do it safely reliably and repeatedly. If you can't dona task why not who does it if you can't

Hi @jamiewales My husband had a PIP tel assessment last October which lasted 2 hours.
He had a nurse who was polite and patient.I put the phone on loud speaker.
During that 2 hrs we had multiple interruptions our end due to my husbands care needs, even though DWP instructed no comfort breaks, etc.
As mentioned in other posts they need to know about the hard parts. If your confused and forget the question tell them.

I had a phone assessment last year....I got a phone call about 30 mins before the assessment from an admin person to check i was expecting the call and to confirm the number and to advise the call may be up to 30 minutes late....the assessor then called on a private number around 20 minutes late....First thing she asked was ...what room are you sitting in....what are you sitting on....who is on the house with you....are you dressed today.....then do you have a pet? ( i have a dog) and then went on to ask where the dog was in the house at that moment.....then went on to ask around the descriptors......it took about 40 minutes....the assessor asked if I would like to produce any further paper evidence and gave me the address to send it too.....the following day I received a text to say the report was with DM ....a week later money was deposited in my account....3 days later I got a letter with award details.... I wouldn't say the assessor was particularly friendly in approach....but she wasn't rude either and gave me ample time to respond.....hope all goes well for you2

Hello , I had my phone assessment Tuesday gone. It was my first time.
The assesor rang me 40 minutes before my appointment time and explained she was early and would it be OK to start.
My assessment lasted 1 hour 40 minutes so I'd advise you to get comfortable.
She was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. The questions were things like the layout of my house, if I had pets members of the household etc.
Then basically went over each of the questions covered in my pip form .
She asked how I manage at a supermarket , driving and stuff like that.
I was very nervous but there was really no need to be.
I hope you have a good experience.2 -
Well the day of interview is here (10-30 am) any last minute tips anyone can suggest? I've literally had a few hours sleep I'm so anxious! I know I shouldn't be but I know you guys understand that we can't help it 😢 thank you to each of you who took the time to reply0

I suffer bad anxiety and she was really nice to me1 -

Hi guys i finished my assessment not long ago and was roughly one hour long
The lady was very friendly which made me feel comfortable, I did struggle with a few questions though!
She said to expect a reply within four weeks, is that normal?
Do you think I should ask for a copy of what she wrote down?0 -
Four weeks could be optimistic and she had no right to say that anyway as the decision has nothing to do with her.We say it can take anywhere between 2 and 12 weeks dependant on area.1

They tell everyone up to 8 weeks but it's more like up to 12 as Mark says. Asking for a copy of the report is not advised if you already suffer with anxiety because it often make it worse, especially if it's not quite what you were expecting.
