There's a link here i found but it doesn't say anything about it needing to be paid back. You do need to be claiming certain means tested benefits. https://gov.wales/winter-fuel-support-scheme#section-84957
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

It's not a loan you don't have to pay it back it has gone up to 200.00 now you have to apply online with your local counciol take a photo of your bill and upload it to prove your energy company if you cant upload then phone your local counciol and they will help you
I received 100.00 pound as I applied before it went up and I had an email saying I would receive another 100 00 in next 14 days because its gone up to 200.00 so realy pleased with that -
Thank you for replies

It's correct @lisathomas50 has posted. When I applied it was for £100. I had an email the other evening to confirm the £200 were to be paid in my account the following day. I checked with UC and they confirmed that the Winter Support Payment did not affect my UC. Hope this helps.Sheree
