Hi
pleased to find this site. I have had diverticular for many years. I have just had a new symptom which is bleeding from the rectum which was painless at first,  I experienced nausea and dizziness, treated with amoxiclav.  This stopped the bleeding but I have started feeling the very familiar pain on my lower left hand side of my pelvic area.  Feel weak, surprised at how long my recovery has taken this time.

Hello @LYn66 and welcome to the community, I'm glad to hear you are on the road to recovery now :)

I'm not a medical professional so I can't offer a very knowledgeable view, but all I can say is I suppose our bodies don't always react in the way we expect them to. Have you spoken to your GP about your concerns around the feeling of weakness and the speed of your recovery?

You are more than welcome to explore the forum whenever you are ready. A good place to start is the Coffee Lounge, or you can look through the categories page too.

If you do have any questions or need a hand, don't hesitate to let us know.

    Alex

Hi, thank you for sharing your story, it really helps to know that other people have had similar experiences.  It can be so frightening when something like this happens to you and sharing the symptoms does help take a lot of the worry away.

I also get intense pain on my lower side with frequent visits to the toilet. I haven’t been confirmed with IBS but have been told to use buscapan.  I don’t have piles, thankfully as I understand that can be very uncomfortable.

I do intend to go back to my GP to get further advice.  I hope you stay well too, do take care xx
