Hi wheelchair assessment

Hi guys been referred by my OT for wheelchair assessment  not quite sure  what happens in the assessments ,  I was just wondering if anybody is going through this give me a few pointers on what will happen, my mobility has gone downhill very quickly I can take 3 to 4 steps before I  black out and  have seizures pain is the trigger's for my grand mal epilepsy and bright flashing lights  ,  the  severe pain going down my legs I'm not able to put one foot down at all my right one I can but it's very difficult to walk,  so just looking for a bit off advice

    Hi there 

    The assessment will involve asking you questions about your mobility , what you would use chair for eg inside or outside or both , measuring your doors and access to property 

    They also measure you and weigh you and discuss type of chair which would be suitable

    You may have a long wait for assessment depends on your local service

    Thank you for your replys I will hopefully got one soon but the OT did say that I could wait couple of mouths before I be seen so fingers crossed , I am Anxious upset down I really  don't know how to fell as I thought it be couple years before I would be like this having to use a chair

    I can imagine that could feel quite upsetting @Ashvinney, but I'd hope that getting a wheelchair could help you to feel more independent, and enable you to get around more easily. Do you think there could be any other positives?
