WCA wait times

I’m wondering what people’s most recent experiences are with getting a WCA.
For reference, my fit note starts from 12th December and was submitted that say. UC50 is confirmed received. Still waiting for an assessment. Does anyone have an idea how long I expect to be waiting?

My money situation is quite miserable at the moment and even with the 3 month period, I was really hoping that things would be processed quickly. I’m really struggling.

Hi there
Dont want to be bearer of bad news but wait times are huge some waiting over a year but then others processed within few months . How long is piece of string really1 -
Was nervous this is what I might hear but 🤷🏽♀️ guess that’s the reality.janer1967 said:Hi there

I had my assessment on the 21st March been waiting since June 2021. I rang them in December and got quite a sharp reply from a man I spoke to.
I have help from community law and was told to try ringing them again, so I did and got an appointment for the assessment. I know that there is quite a back log but I needed to do something as my work coach was really getting me down.
I'm just waiting on the outcome now, apparently it only takes a few days but have not heard anything yet.1 -
Hi there
Glad you have finally had your assessment the decision can take a bit linger than a few days but the wca decisions do seem to be quicker than sone other dwp decisions
Fingers crossed for the outcome do let us know how you get on0 -
Glad to hear you got your assessment. My issue is I don’t even know who to contact. My work coach has actually been quite kind and said he would chase it up but that he didn’t really know who he was chasing with. Who do I contact? I too understand that there is a backlog but currently, without a work income it’s a matter of being able to pay for groceries and necessities. Surviving on thoughts and prayers at the moment.JellyBaby88 said:I had my assessment on the 21st March been waiting since June 2021. You haven't really been waiting that long compared to a lot of others that have posted here. The Health Assessment Advisory Service do work capability assessments. You can contact them direct on 0800 288 8777. See link. https://chdauk.co.uk/

I can understand it’s less in comparison (which is exactly why I asked - I had no way of knowing what’s expected) but I’d still like to have an idea of when I’ll be able to do a decent grocery shop and not sacrifice paying for my phone plan. Thanks for the number.poppy123456 said:hbean5747 said:

You will only receive the extra money if you're found to have LCWRA. This is then paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition. You can see the descriptors here. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work-related-activity

I didn't know if you could post phone numbers on here but poppy123456 has. So if I was you, I'd ring them. You've got nothing to lose and if you don't get an appointment, maybe try again in a month or so.hbean5747 said:

I know from my first wca it was weeks for the decision but apparently folk are getting the decision within days of a telephone assessment.
When I saw my work coach on the 24th March, she said it was a day overdue. I guess they are powering through the backlog.0 -
Sounds like the best thing for me to do. I may be told I just need to wait but worth trying. ThanksJellyBaby88 said:

Not personal information you can't. The phone number i posted was a contact number for the health assessment providers, which is completely different to personal information.

I was replying to the health advisory number not personal information, not that anyone was talking about personal information.poppy123456 said:JellyBaby88 said:

Hi @JellyBaby88 just to clarify the only phone numbers which are not allowed to be posted on the forum are any personal contact details, such as home or mobile telephone numbers, which is the 'personal information' poppy referred to in her reply.
Does that make sense?

I am not sure why anyone is thinking that I would want to post my phone number on here. I was referring to the number for the health advisory and ONLY the health advisory. I’m not sure this matters guys. I read jelly’s message as “The reason I didn’t initially post the number I used was I didn’t realise I was able to, but you can find it now in the thread”. It was contextual. It’s fine y’all.poppy123456 said:JellyBaby88 said:

To be fair, I posted a phone number for the HCP and then gave an explanation why it was allowed. Don’t understand what the issue is here!0
