(I do understand there is a difference in esa and pip assessments) My UC adviser is brilliant and has told me to go for PIP again (I didn’t appeal last year) and I’m absolutely petrified, I don’t want too.The criteria for LCWRA is not about scoring points, it's about meeting at least one of the descriptors the majority of the time.PIP descriptors are different and you need to score at least 8 points for an award. For daily living there's 10 acitivities and mobility there's 2.They are 2 totally different benefits, with different criteria. Being found to have LCWRA doesn't mean you're automatically entitled to PIP.With good reason you have 13 months to request the Mandatory Reconsideration. How long was it that the decision was made on the PIP?To constantly reapply using the same evidence you previously used could see another refusal.I let was 2 years ago now I believe so to late so will have to start again but my GP and occupational therapist has said they will help me with it this time round0

Have you reviewed the PIP descriptors (pipinfo.net) to see where you might be able to score points, and thought of some evidence to support what you're saying?
Well my occupational therapist, GP and UC advisor has told me to go for it again so I think I should although they have said they will support me through the process as i can’t tolerate lots of different things I get easily agitated unfortunately. But I have the help available from medical professionals so hopefully will be better this time around0 -

That's normal some people are waiting up to a year others just wait few months its just a postcode lottery0

Who do I call. I don't know who will do it or where0
-
It will be the Health Assessment Advisory Service that do work capability assessments. The number is 0800 288 8777. See link. https://chdauk.co.uk/your-assessment/types-of-assessments/employment-and-support-allowance-esa/

thank you so i can ring that number to find out when my appointment is aand whereid prefer over phone due to my anxiety0
-
Yes, they may not be able to tell you today when your assessment will be but they maybe able to give you some idea of the timescale. If there's a cancellation they maybe able to offer you an appointment sooner. There's no harm in asking for a telephone assessment.

Thanks for the update @Amberpearl I'm sorry you've not heard anything, you could ask for an update on your journal if you haven't already.
If you have been submitting sick notes for a long time and have not received a UC50 to complete, you should ask your work coach to send you one.

Are you sure I haven't been forgotten0
-
Hi @Amberpearl it's more likely that there's a large backlog for work capability assessments, and it can take some time for one to become available.
If you can, contact the number Poppy has shared, or if you have access to a journal, leave a note on that, asking for an update on things, a timescale for when you might get an appointment.

Amberpearl said:Are you sure I haven't been forgottenThey haven't forgotten you. It's been 4 months which really isn't long. Some people are waiting several months and more. If you're concerned please ring the health assessment providers with the number i gave.If it's ESA you're claiming and not Universal Credit then you won't have access to any journal.0
