Hello,
I am stepfather to an almost seven year old girl who has dysphagia under investigation and also allergies to dairy, soya, celery, oranges and melon.
We are struggling to find foods and recipes that we can give her that she can both swallow and that are safe for her allergies.
I wonder if anyone has the same experience and can offer any suggestions please.
Many thanks,
Damian

Hello @DamianH and welcome to the community, thanks for reaching out today
I'm afraid I wouldn't know where to start with suggestions as I don't have direct experience, but does your stepdaughter have any specialists involved in her care that can provide guidance on her diet, given the allergies? Is it something her doctor has been able to discuss with you?Online Community Coordinator

Hi @DamianH
I do not know what dysphagia, but i will look it up.
As for the allergies i do know abit about them, it's more common these days, but that probably because the doctors recognise it more now days.
I'm afraid a lot of your Daughters allergies requires you to scratch cook, this is were you do not give ready made meals but make them yourselves. She can have roast dinners all sorts, you can by a lot of dairy free cakes now days or by the dairy free spreads. If you dine out ask to see the allergie statements it is law now that every food provider shows all the main allergies.
