Paper based assesment

Hello can anyone help.

I applied for PIP in October 2021 today I got a phone call from a nurse who does the assessments for dwp saying she is writing my report up and just wanted to ask a few questions. I was on the phone 10 minutes she said she had all she needed and was going to request/report I need the highest amount of support and was going to send it by the end of the day.
Think this is a paper based report as not had an assesment.
1. Anyone else had this before, I'm just a little confused as I have not sent in any evidence baring a note from my doctor stating I have ptsd and agoraphobia and that is it nothing else.
2. How long will it take for me to get a decision
3. Will the dwp go with her recommendations

Paper based assessments are rare but they do happen. Although when she told you she was going to request the highest amount of support, she shouldn't have told you that because it's not her job to say anything to you. The only person that can make a decision is a decision maker from DWP.
Once the report has been returned to DWP decisions can take between 2-12 weeks, sometimes longer.

Welcome to the community @niomelouise :) It's great to have you on board!

I've merged your threads so that the responses are all in one place. I hope that poppy123456 has cleared that up a bit for you. If you have any further questions, please do let us know.

I noticed that you mentioned having PTSD and agoraphobia. I just wanted to check whether you're receiving enough support to help you manage those conditions at the moment?

I too had a PBR - Which I have cut and pasted from the form - that was EMAILED to me (for any sceptics amongst you - and accused me of telling porkies - here it is.........complete with NO REVIEW DATE !!
I have no idea what is meant by "reasonable attempts have been made to gain further evidence" since I included huge wadges with my application form and included contact details for consultants and doctors !

Oh wow. I was not sure as to what the lady was saying to me in regards to a paper based assesment. And when she stated that she was going to give me maximum points/ request I have the highest support available I was also very sceptical I suppose all I can do is wait for the decision to be made.

How long after your PBA did you get the decision

I was getting help I have had 2 online sessions with a mental health specialist and have done CBT etc buy this has been going on since my little sisters death back in 2005.  But because of my anxiety etc I havnt been able to stick to many appointments etc and same with medication I felt it made it all worse so I take it for a little while and then stop. My medical history is extensive when it comes to my mental health problems etc. However the assessment lady has not contacted my doctor or anyone for that matter just myself yesterday and said she was writing it up yesterday and sending it by the end of the day

Possibly that they have sought information from those consultants and/or doctors.

Did you request the email and also how long after the PB was sent did you get the email. She said she was sending it yesterday. So I'm hoping I should here soon it's been nearly 7 months from when I made the claim

I asked for communication using eMail because of my communication problem
    I was offered reasonable adjustments

Oh I see. I was never told what I would get nor did I ask for any adjustments she just rang me out the blue yesterday and said that to me. I suppose it's just a waiting game now 😕

Did you mention any speech problems in your application form?

But elsewhere in the form - it also mentions that they have very little information....
I believe that they are relying on my PARKINSONISM diagnosis !
Still 22 points from mobility and 20 points from daily living should be enough to obtain high level for both ?
