Maybe so but if they did a good job and advised you that you met the criteria there should be no need for appeal

I hope you get the outcome you are expecting

A lawyer isn't need for a PIP claim. A little confused why the price included the appeal, if needed. I'm with @janer1967 here if they advised you that enough points could be scored for an award, there shouldn't be need for an appeal.

Nobody here knows my personal situation and I don't have to explain why this was the only option for mem but as I said in a reply above this was the only was I could have done it. I didn't expect to be judged and attacked for my personal choices.

It's not for you to decide who does and doesn't need certain help for a PIP claim.

Morning @Laura442 I am sorry you feel you were being judged or attacked.
I don't think for one moment the members were doing that darling. I think they were just trying to make sure you didn't get ripped off by paying for the service.
Yes i understand no one knows what others have been through or going through, people on the forum are just here to help give advise/friendship etc.
    Hope you are well today.

    Today is another day.

Nobody is attacking you for your choice just trying to advise you that there are free services out there that could help

We all understand how difficult it can be for some people to negotiate the benefits system and need assistance

    Wish you the best outcome

You've completely misundestood me. The reason i said a lawyer isn't needed is because they often have very little understanding of the PIP criteria.  I was just saying that no one should have to pay for help when there's places that help for free. No one was judging you either and i'm sorry you thought that.
I wish you good luck with your claim but i won't be commenting further.

I haven't completely misunderstood you at all. The places that help for free do not offer the level of service that I needed, but again I shouldn't have to explain that.

@Laura442 no one is criticizing you for feeling you needed someone to help you with your PIP form. It shouldn't be necessary for people to have to pay for help to complete a form to get a benefit which they are entitled to - I think the fact that you felt you needed to pay for help shows how difficult many  people find the PIP form to complete - which is a fault of the PIP form, not you.  Many many of our members in our online community have personal experience of making PIP claims and making successful appeals and would be happy to support you with support, tips and information.

I do hope you hear back from the DWP decision maker soon and that you have a positive outcome. Do keep us posted.  Take care.

I hear you @Laura442. The PIP process, and other processes and systems, seem particularly daunting and overwhelming. It is understandable that some people need to get help with navigating these processes.

Just a shame there's not a free service which can provide the same level of support and understanding! Nevertheless, I hope you find it useful and please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you or if you have any questions for us  :)
