Hi to all,
I am going next week for an assesment to have a stoma fitted for bowel problems and also need to go back to urology suspected urological cancer need to have a cytoscope.
These will be hard to deal with will take me a long time to get used 2.

I wish you the best for the upcoming assessments, and of course the community will be here if you ever want to talk. It can sometimes take a while to adapt and get used to things, but it's important to be patient with yourself, you'll get there eventually

Obviously different people have different experiences with dealing with a stoma. I have had one in the past (now reversed) and can honestly say that it had very little impact on my life. That is not to say there were never problems but if you are pragmatic these can be dealt with.
The alternative to having a stoma is likely to be worse.

I could perhaps add that, even if you prepared, the first sight of your stoma sticking out of your body may be a bit of a shock - just because it's you!Sparklebright63 said:Hi Collati,

Hi to all,
I went to my assesment this morning and they R doing a bowel stoma diversion but I need to loose weight aswell first before they do the op so that's what I am concentrating on now hopefully I will have it done sooner rather than later on.
They havnt given me a time frame yet of when it will be but I hope I won't have to wait long.
My daughter said I should have been given and idea of when it will be.

If they have said you need to lose weight before they will operate then the timing will depend on your weight loss they will only list you once you have reached the target weight -
Well when I spoke to Shauna yesterday she said they will add me to the list so will have to see.
I have just had a really bad bowel flare I left a message with the doctors for meds for my bowel they havnt sent any so I am going to phone up in a min its disgusting they leave you like this in this mess.
And on monday I have a cytoscopy of my bladder poss bladder cancer.
Been bleeding since March.
