Will it be though? They said that about Sadam Hussein; now look at the Middle East and more specifically Iraq - it`s a dog`s dinner.

@Cartini well for now anyway unless someone else causes world war three that's if he is dead if he isn't then the threat is still there0

@MarkM88 my post is yay or nay and it's not the situation I find funny trying to make light of what your saying to me but everyone is entitled to an opinion no one has proof the only reason I belive he could be dead is because nuclear weapons would of been used by now in my opinion putin is a man who doesn't care about human life and because he is or was dying he would do it because he could1
-
Personally I think that even a dying Putin wouldn’t want his legacy to be a barren wasteland of a country, Russia would be attacked by NATO’s nuclear weapons as soon as he attacked NATO with the same. This is the reason why both Russia and China are trying to develop hypersonic missiles, to gain the edge and end the mutually assured destruction which keeps the superpowers in check.
I think Putin wants Ukraine back in the fold, he wants Ukraine to be a part of Russia again. If he wanted anything more I think we would’ve known by now.
I dont believe there is any proof that he is dead, though at seventy years of age he is not in the prime of life anymore shall we say.0 -

@Biblioklept another valid opinion, which we are all allowed.0

@Biblioklept me neither I’m just clarifying and backing up what Lisa said that everyone is entitled to an opinion.0

@Alex_Scope I would like an explanation of why a lot of my comments have been removed?0

Only time will tell eventually if he is dead then the another leader will have to be chosen I doubt we will ever know the truth if he did realy die tomorrow would any one belive it ???? In my opinion even if he is dead will the next leader be any better the only good thing would be the war would stop
It is awful for the people in Ukraine whilst two leaders won't back down the innocent peoples lives are being cut short people dying children and babies dying people fleeing their own country I know its a massive thing and they don't want the Russians to run Ukraine but is it worth all those people dying and the devastation and the knock on effect on the rest of the world the only way it will all stop is when putin is dead0 -

I find possible misinformation troubling, & have to agree with @MarkM88 that the war in Ukraine, Putin's reputed ill health/death are indeed serious issues, & am unsure how being light-hearted about discussing these helps anyone IMHO.We have seen tensions arise about discussing misinformation before, which may unfortunately drive away members who try to refute such misinformation, & divide opinion. What do we know? It seems many here consider Putin's death a rumour; I can only concur. Why? from looking back, I find that Putin's demise was in fact rumoured in 2012, then in 2015. From the latter date, was there in fact any evidence about his demise or even use of a 'body double?' The answer is no; footage was examined, & thought to have possibly shown some earlier footage of Putin during a short period in March 2015.Is there any likelihood of Russia using nuclear weapons due to the Ukranian conflict......possible, but very unlikely, rather a bit of sabre-rattling.Hitler's death was in fact well recorded, tho the Soviets spread misinformation. Please see: https://medium.com/lessons-from-history/eyewitnesses-reveal-what-really-happened-on-the-day-hitler-died-5c0e3c3ff241Can anyone refute rumours, no, but looking at the incidences mentioned above, then surely they can be seen as just that, i.e. rumours, & speculating upon such is a waste of time, & can cause harm.Again, this is about the content of the post, but not the poster, 'It is awful for the people in Ukraine whilst two leaders won't back down the innocent peoples lives are being cut short people dying children and babies dying people fleeing their own country I know its a massive thing and they don't want the Russians to run Ukraine but is it worth all those people dying and the devastation and the knock on effect on the rest of the world the only way it will all stop is when putin is dead,'How would we feel if the UK had been invaded? Would we not fight to the last to protect our country, & would we 'back down?'A more than interesting read about misinformation here: https://fullfact.org/media/uploads/full-fact-report-2022-summary-of-recommendations.pdf & https://fullfact.org/blog/2022/mar/online-safety-bill/Misinformation causes harm, & should be countered. Safeguarding of this community matters overall, but members should be able to express their opinions without censure, even if it's over a somewhat contentious issue such as misinformation; their well being also matters.2

@chiarieds it was a harmless question what do people think and what has been said people said putin wouldn't go to war with Ukraine but he did is it misinformation no one knows as everyone knows there are so many different story's lots of different footage lots of different photos lots of different illness reported that putin is suposed to have and lots of different things that putin is going to do
Only time will tell things have been said in the past on the forum that was said to be mis information but turned out to be true1 -
The lol wasn't to do with Ukraine it was what Mark was saying to me that prompted the lol1
-
It was obvious, for about 6 months, that Putin was going to invade Ukraine. Russia had a detailed plan of what it wanted to do which was organised by Putin's closest and most trusted allies. I believe that Putin had unfinished business with Ukraine, and that he is physically Ill and wanted his place in the history books before he dies.
The trouble with such a long build-up is that NATO had plenty of time to put plans in place to help the Ukrainians. Not exactly what Putin wanted! This is Putin's war - even his senior commanders don't want it.1 -
@Siwheels73 I know but on the forum some people didn't belive it would happen it is putins war so when or if he is gone the war will stop very high price has been paid with lots of lives lost and the chaos and the affect on the world0
-
@lisathomas50, sadly you are very right with that. The death of one man is going to affect the world for years - just look at Petrol prices here. I worked for the MoD for 17 years and, although some things have changed, some threats keep popping up. It's just an unfortunate timing after COVID - not that IT has gone away.0

Hi @lisathomas - whilst you may consider your question harmless, it has opened up speculation, & I do feel facts matter. I stand by what I've said that previous rumours have proven untrue. I've seen a photoshot of Putin in his coffin; does that make it true? I read the coffin was identified as that of a former Russian leader. You mention that things have been said in the past on the forum which were said to be misinformation later turned out to be true.....what were they?Tbh if you look back, you did say lol before you replied to Mark.My concern is that misinformation matters, & It's likely for the best if our forum members rather deal with correct info. Misinformation truly can harm, & members trying to refute this, who have contributed an awful lot to this forum, have ended up with the Scope team instead checking their posts......not great.1

Hi @Biblioklept - from the 2nd link I gave above,'[an aim is to] Improve media literacy—Full Fact research shows that one in three adults find it hard to distinguish true information from false information' The government's aim is to make the UK the safest place to be online. Please note I initially wrote, 'I find possible misinformation troubling....' I haven't said that you've given any misinformation. However, I hope I've debunked this by looking at past incidences when Putin has been 'reported' as ill/dead/used a body double; the same with Hitler's death, from actual evidence.Everyone should be able to express an opinion so long as it's about the content of the post, which I think should include any language used within the post. Again, as I tried to indicate above, such discussions don't always lead to healthy debate, rather can cause problems between members (as between yourself & another; a very helpful member of the community, whom I feel you sadly misjudged).0

Hi @Biblioklept you havnt done anything wrong no one has, don't feel you need to leave as you havnt been here long, altho I can see why you feel that way. Please use the report button if you feel someone is getting at you. Personally I think its just nit picking, it's a post about opinions, not if someone uses the word lol too much etc. I personally don't have an Intrest about the post, but when new members are made to feel like leaving then it needs looking at.
Hope you stay around @Biblioklept1
