My husband of 25 years has just been diagnosed with high functioning autism. It is a relief to have answers to so many questions, but I dont really know how to support him.
Any tips anyone?

Thank you for sharing a little bit about your current situation. It's great that you want to support you husband, and that the diagnosis seems to have been a positive thing for you both.

Have you spoken to your husband about how he's feeling about it all, and what kind of support he'd like from you at the moment?

The National Autistic Society (NAS) also have a guide for partners of autistic people, which you might find helpful.

Hi @Julie101, I would say that if you have been together over 25 years, then it would suggest that you both know how to support each other about so many things, and I am sure you will find a way around it. Being there for your husband is the important thing, but this diagnosis won't have changed the person you know.
