Back pain after new mattress

I had an old mattress for about ten years; it was a firm mattress that now appears to be very soft. So I decided to replace the mattress and purchased a new mattress [link removed by moderator]. I've been sleeping fine on it, but my husband complained of back pain the first night. We have had the mattress for about 10 days now, and she's still in pain. Is that something to do with the mattress? Is it necessary for me to return the mattress? He's going to the hospital for a checkup on a Monday, So Could you please share your thought on this.

Hi Welcome to the community,I moved into a new flat 2 weeks ago and had new furniture and a new matress, and the first week I had aches and pains all over my body and back and I struggled to get to sleep. It took a while but now find it comfortable and able to sleep all throughout the night. I think its a case of your body adjusting to it from what its been used too for years. I think if the problem persists though I think the matress may not be suitable as everyone is different and as such there are different matresses as some people like a firm matress whereby some like a soft one.I would check with your GP to see if theres any back problems at first, but failing that and after trying the matress for a while I would look into changing it as it could very well the case of the matress is not suitable for their body.0

You could always try using a mattress topper you can buy all sorts including a memory foam one, might work out cheaper then buying another mattress.0
