Can you only request a pip award letter copy from the helpline or is there any way to request this online. Also I would like to say many thanks in advance for any help given. Thank you Martin Glasgow

Hello @Marty1892
Welcome to the community, I hope you are coping okay in the heat. Lovely to have you aboard
Sadly there is currently no way to manage your claim online and therefore no way to request an award letter online. You'll have to call the PIP helpline unfortunately. Hopefully it becomes possible to do it online soon though. This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.

Hi @Marty1892
I'm not sure if it would work in your situation but I have seen that some members on the online community have had success in making a subject access request when they have lost or mislaid an important DWP letter - I have not tried this myself but you could give this a go.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/request-your-personal-information-from-the-department-for-work-and-pensions
and then
https://secure.dwp.gov.uk/personal-information-request
It will be far easier, however, if you are able to persuade someone at the DWP to send you a copy of the letter and you may be fortunate and get hold of someone helpful !0 -
That would seem over the top. There should be no problem getting a copy of the letter issued if it is requested.Sue_Scope said:Hi @Marty1892
