I applied for Attendance allowance, but it's over two months and I still have not heard from the DWP is there some kind of backlog.

Hello @brasso1947
Welcome to the community, thank you for joining and making your first post. I believe there is a backlog yes, many benefit claims and renewals are taking quite a lot longer than normal at the moment. have you tried calling up to ask whether there is a timeframe in which you should expect a decision? This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.

I sent my claim for Attendance Allowance off in the post on the 31st January 2022 and I received my decision on the 8th March 2022. My claim was successful and the first amount of money was actually in my bank on the previous Friday 4th March 2022. I did not have to have an assessment but apparently they are not usually required for Attendance Allowance.brasso1947 said:I applied for Attendance allowance, but it's over two months and I still have not heard from the DWP is there some kind of backlog.

As far as I know there isn't a backlog for Attendance Allowance. Maybe ring them up?0 -
