PIP Review - in-house decision

Hi all,

I hope everyone is keeping as well as can be given the difficulty with money I’m feeling and I’m sure a lot are haha!
just thought I’d share some positive news for those who might like to know:

I was sent my AR1 around 4 months ago - I called the DWP to chase and was told my award had been reviewed in house with no referral to AP needed. And was increased and a 6 year award! Needless to say I was stunned as it’s the relief of it all being over for such a long time!

Curiously I’ve always had paper assessments - even when the claim/ar1 referred to IAS etc. - I do wonder if they have medical information that has been held from me that I’m not allowed to see etc - “harmful information” maybe? Any input would be appreciated.

i hope all is well - long road for us all but light is at the end of the tunnel

Hello and welcome to the community @friendselectric30

How are you today? It certainly is a tough time for many at the moment as you referenced, but I hope the security of having the longer term award helps to ease your worries a bit. Thanks for letting us know about your experience, and congratulations.

Perhaps you have always had paper assessments because you include a lot of information when sending in a form? Would you say that is correct?

This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:

    • The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
    • The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
    • The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community

If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
