Hi all

I am LCWRA and about to lose my job but been super worried about my future. So I have been in regular contact with job centre about future opportunities to get back into work with my health conditions.

The DEA has invited me to a health fair to see IPES.

Should I be worried?

Sounds like you have asked them for help and they are offering it.

I would be VERY careful, I was on JSA back in the late 90s and got messed about a LOT by the Job Centre, until about 18 months later I went for a pointless interview for a job I didn't even want, answering the phones in a Taxi Office, they told me they'd given the job to a 16 year old on New Deal, I went barmy and marched straight down the Job Centre and told them in no uncertain terms where they could stick the poxy 35 quid a week Dole money.

That was a long time ago and things have changed since then. OP has already been found to have LCWRA while claiming UC so has no work commitments, which means they don’t need to attend any appointments or look for work.

With respect, I've had dealings with Job Centre Plus since then and to put it politely it hasn't been pleasant.

Maybe your attitude has something to do with it.

Would I need to worry if I said I suffer with panic attacks? The job centre has said it won’t be crowded.

You don't need to attend any appointments because you were found to have LCWRA but if you asked for the help, they are only doing what you asked for.

Are you receiving any support to help you manage your panic attacks @dp267p? If you do attend, hopefully it won't be too busy in there :)

No. PIP is based on needs the majority of time as I am sure you’re aware. You get LCWRA so if you really don’t want to go- don’t.

No but as you went it's a moot point now anyway. Remember, just because you're claiming PIP and LCWRA it doesn't mean you can't have a life.

What do you mean by moot point?

Is it going to go against me?

Was it a stupid idea to go? She wanted to show me the support available for when I’m ready to work.

With LCWRA PIP. There were a lot of DWP people there though

Moot point meaning that you went to the job centre so asking if that would go against you makes now difference now anyway because you had already been.
As i advised, it wouldn't go against you anyway. Remember, you did ask your local job centre for support.

True. I was worried about my future and obviously needed to know whether I’d be able to work again after a long period out of work on LCWRA.

OMG I just read one of the other threads and I’m on 1E mobility and I turned up to the job centre with my partner.

There will be cameras everywhere and they’ll probably use that as evidence now that I’m not entitled because I’ve left the house.

Which thread was this on @dp267p

As poppy123456 has said, this shouldn't affect your claim :) Is your partner a good source of support for you?

Yes I need them to travel everywhere. Like my calm presence.

I think it will affect my claim. I’m feeling really tense and nervous and scared. The DWP lady said it’s good to see you out and about.

Am I gonna get in trouble?

If that was on here then you need to go back and have another read of the thread because that’s not what 1E means.
It doesn’t mean you can’t leave the house ALL of the time.
It means that the majority of the time you can’t leave the house because of OPD.
Going out sometimes will not affect your PIP.
This has been talked about extensively on here in the past week or so.
Just curious, are you posting using different usernames?
