    Having read her book ‘A Straight Talking Introduction to Psychiatric Drugs: The Truth about How They Work and How to Come Off Them’ by Professor Moncreif a renowned psychiatrist I totally agree with the sentiment in the article. 

    I was once told I would have to take anti depressants for life just like having diabetes too. I took one type of pill which had no effect and so they gave me a far stronger one and the result was a massive panic attack which I thought was a heart attack, I thought I was going to die. The after effects lasted for eighteen months! I thought I would have this neurological disorder for life! That’s my experience anyway.

    I'm sorry you had such a negative experience @leecal :( 

    Though the research is of course interesting and worth sharing, I do worry about the stuff mentioned in the article about people stopping taking medication they're on without guidance, and about potential pill-shaming. Ultimately, I think people just need to find out what works for them, which will be different for everyone :)

    Yes I agree, medication should never be simply stopped by the patient.

    Definitely @leeCal. I wonder if GPs or psychiatrists will see a rise in people mentioning this research to them.
