This is what happens when you fall and put your hand out to soften the ground
This happened to me 10 years ago.
This happened to me 10 years ago.I was taken to hospital - given gas and air and my finger was pulled straight again
No after effects remain today.

The same thing happened to my middle son when a basket ball hit him on the top of his fingers - he dislocated and broke a bone in his little finger.
Still wasn't expecting to see that ha ha0 -

Mine, luckily was not broken - merely bent - it was just pulled back in to its "socket" - it hurt like mad at the time, but no after affects at all !
