Hello just asking for a friend they were on ESA in the support group and transferred to universal by themselves will they need an assessment for work capability or will they continue to get ESA?

The ESA Support Group status should transfer across to UC as LCWRA. It can take a few weeks for this to happen. UC may ask for a Fit Note while this happens.
if any of the ESA was contribution based then that part of the ESA will continue and will be paid separately from UC (but it will be deducted from the UC).0 -
It is income based so what does that mean do they have to do anything or will it continue as normal after a few weeks ?calcotti said:The ESA Support Group status should transfer across to UC as LCWRA. It can take a few weeks for this to happen. UC may ask for a Fit Note while this happens.

The ESA stops two weeks after the UC claim is made. They don't need to do anything, they should have disclosed they have ESA as part of the UC claim and they should have declared their health conditions as part of the claim. UC will process the claim. Most importantly they need to check their UC journal frequently in case they have been asked to provide any additional information. As advised, they may be asked to provide a Ft Note.jamie2471 said: It is income based so what does that mean do they have to do anything or will it continue as normal after a few weeks ?0 -

I can hear you are worried about moving from ESA to UC @19steven68. Would you like to tell us more about this?
We are all here for you. At the very least, we will listen to you and you don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to
