Hello, having missed a telephone call from DWP I phoned them today and was advised my MR was successful, I answered 4 questions about being abroad / in prison or hospital, and advised I would get a letter in 10 - 14 days. Have I read correctly, in other posts, that it could take up to 8 weeks to receive backdated / first payment?!

Yours was after MR stage. From the date it's paid it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank. If the decision letter is expected within 10-14 days then i would expect payment to be received before that.Money owed comes first. Then every 4 weeks for future payments.1
