Hello, having missed a telephone call from DWP I phoned them today and was advised my MR was successful, I answered 4 questions about being abroad / in prison or hospital, and advised I would get a letter in 10 - 14 days. Have I read correctly, in other posts, that it could take up to 8 weeks to receive backdated / first payment?!

No, that is the timescale after a Tribunal win. Yours was after MR stage. From the date it's paid it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank. If the decision letter is expected within 10-14 days then i would expect payment to be received before that.
Money owed comes first. Then every 4 weeks for future payments.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
