Cost of living payment text - is it real?

Hello everyone, 
Has anyone received a Text Message From the DWP about the cost of living payments, 🤔  I'm not sure If it's Real Or not

    Yes I got one yesterday, it’s just a standard text message.

    Thank you for the Info Tori_scope and I Get Very Paranoid About Texts From Them and I'm Never Sure IF they are Real or Not, I had a private number call me last week and didn't answer it because i didn't know who it was

    Just to add: A few people have received texts which appear to be genuine.

    However, as you've not said what your text includes I thought I'd mention that if a text asks you to follow a link or respond with any information, that's usually when you need to be wary.

    Your text was different to mine then, mine said the government are making extra cost of living payments to find out if you qualify go to www.gov.uk I went on there and it just gives information about the cost of living payments

    Hi Adrian, the text message I had was from the DWP and it read, the government are making cost of living payments, to find out if you qualify go to www.gov.uk/Guidance cost of living payments

    That's exactly what i received too and it looked genuine to me. It also came through on the same number as previous text messages from DWP, which i knew were 100% genuine.

    There was no number attached to the text I had poppy🤔 it just said From DWP

    I know there wasn't but the text came from the same place my previous text messages came from and what the previous texts related to was quite clear it was DWP.

    Got the txt but didnt get any money in DWP strike again

    As i advised you on this thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/105038/who-has-received-or-started-to-see-their-301-cost-of-living-payment#latest you can receive it anytime up until 17th May. Today is only day 2 of the payment dates.

    If you are not sure about a phone number just Google the number. If not sure about a text, just IGNORE it.
