Hello everybody, hospital transport

I've moved here from Scotland and wonder if anybody is having the same problem as me. I had a hospital appointment and explained to hospital transport service that i am a wheelchair bound electric wheelchair lady, heavy duty chair that requires a vehicle with a hydrolic lift. Needless to say i was told they did not have one. I had to transfer 3 times as they would not let me take my chair all because they don't have the correct lifts in place. Anyone going through this as well as me.

    I'm so sorry to hear about these barriers you've come across in relation to accessing services. Did you speak about this with the hospital's Patient Advice Liaison Services (PALS)? They are there to help patients with matters such as this and if it's an issue you have come across, then I'm sure others will have so don't be afraid of flagging it up. Use this 'Find Patient advice and liaison services' webpage to find your hospital's PALS contact details.

    Thank you for getting in touch... I have asked the local MP Mr Stephenson to have a look at the service provider for patient transport services at Burnley as in my opinion i feel they should at least have 1 vehicle with a hydrolic ramp serving heavy duty wheelchairs. Now everything else i am in a queue for so i am a "lady in waiting" lol. I think i am developing a sense of humor. You folk out there i think will understand. Kind regards jeannie
