A recently asked Pip assessment question.

Hi everyone, I'm a bit confused, I have a family member who helps me with certain things regarding my MH,they have done for years. During my assessment this person was beside me on the call,assessor knew they were there, she asked was my family member trained in MH. I didn't think they needed to be,they just had to be a trusted friend,family member etc.
Can anyone shed light on this.

    Family members/friends do not have to be trained in MH.

    @poppy123456 Just one more thing, my friend whose assessment was two weeks before mine,Was very distressed when asked about suicide, as she has tried a number of times,she said to the assessor she had severe childhood trauma, but was told She wouldn't be putting that in her report. Even though it's on my friends pip form anyway. So it's already known.
    It's connected to her anxiety and depression. Why is it not considered, any thoughts?

    The assessment is done to gather more information. It’s not meant for the assessor to write what they said verbatim. Maybe there was enough information in the form they filled in.
