What is the process of a Pip Review

My PIP does not run out until May of next year but i have had my review forms through. They have to be back in a weeks time and I have someone filling them in for me.
So, what I am asking is, what is the process of the pip review and how long does it take. So, if they receive my pip form next week, when will they notify me about a pip appointment and when do people think that appointment would be. I have never been through the review process before.

The purpose of the review is to see if you're still entitled to PIP. Most people have assessments and there's huge backlogs so you could be waiting several months and more. As i advised in your other thread we have members that have been waiting a year. They have been known to send a text when the form is received but not always. No one can tell you when you'll receive an appointment, if an assessment is needed. Best thing to do once you've returned the form is try to concentrate on something else because it could be a very long wait. Your PIP will continue until a decision is made on the review.0

it is very easy to say concentrate on something else. if they take away my car then i become housebound. i cannot use buses and struggle with taxis. It would mean i would struggle to attend doctors and hospital appointments

Yes, i totally get that, i've been through PIP reviews myself, many times. There's not much anyone can do about the backlogs.

My pip review was sent back in September and my award is till August 2023 so mine was basically a year before my review date.
Yes it is worrying and we just need to try and put it to the back of our mind.
In a way I'm glad it's taking so long as I have just been diagnosed with something that makes walking extremely difficult for me so I got copies of hospital letter and took the opportunity to write to pip with a typed out in depth description of how and each description affects me and took @poppy123456 advice and wrote about half a page per descriptor of how I'm affected.
This is where every cloud has a silver lining if, if PIP was not running behind I would never have been able to send this further evidence in regarding latest hospital findings.
I know it might not matter but at least I now feel that I have done everything possible and went into every detail in the hope that when my assessment comes they only need to ask a few things.
With hindsight I should have treated it like a new claim but like you never had a review before, but thanks to Poppy123456 I knew what I should have done and yes I took the opportunity with my new diagnosed condition and made hay while the sun's shines 🙂
As Poppy123456 said give as much detail as possible, give real events and that is something I did not put on the form but have now.
I feel so much better as I know I have NOW did every thing I can and what's for me won't go by attitude now.

It will be sent off tomorrow.I have read somewhere that in Scotland they are much better than England with dealing in the PIP applications and review. Lets hope that our new Government make things better and not worse.I was shocked though recently when I read a job advert for PIP Assessment Officers. The wage that they receive is shockingly high.

No worries. Yes. you read correctly but only because i've turned off notifications so if someone tags me i have no idea until i read that thread. I don't want people thinking i'm ignoring them if i don't respond.

I'm in Scotland, South Lanarkshire area to be exact, and it is my understanding that Scotland basically does paper based unless their is major doubt or lack of evidence so yea it does seem to be a better/fairer system but as I've haven't experienced this yet it so imo it would be unfair to give my opinion but on paper it does seem a better system, and if my PIP review fails to grant me what I have been awarded then, I will certainly be claiming Adult Disability Payment aka ADP or the Scottish PIP 😀 I will keep everyone updated on my PIP review 😊 although I will be hoping that my award continues and it will be a simple transfer over ADP

It remains to be seen whether or not the new Scottish ADP is fairer. Prior to PIP, DLA was awarded based on a paper system but that had plenty of problems. Paper based may be less stressful but with either system what actually matters is the quality of the assessment and I suspect that to some extent this will depend on how much time those making the decisions are given to to their job.0

I took it to a tribunal and went from 2 points daily living to 8 in where the Judge actually said I'm sorry you had to go this. He asked about my mobilty and I said I know it will get worse but at the moment I'm managing thank you. He thanked me for being so honest.
Now my PIP transfer was a f2f home visit in where the nurse was very thorough and IMO fair. That award was for standard both and a 5 year award.
This time PIP review can't comment yet but my mobility is bad so hoping the HP will recognise this.

Your right Poppy123456 my mistake I went from no award to care component I meant to write basically I went from. (The equivalent to PIP) think it was roughly £50.00 a week back then.
But I definitely had a f2f when I claimed DLA and it was money matters that filled the form in and they accompanied myself to the appeal although it was myself who did the talking. The lady from money matters said it is very rare for the judge to tell you your award and apologies for having to appeal.

I think I may have been unfortunate tbh. Honestly he was in my house for maybe half an hour tops compared to the pip changeover now that was totally different the lady sat on my floor played with my dog, asked lots of questions, looked at all my meds asked what clothing I wore, asked if I always wore pull on trousers and I said yes, she was just so thorough. Think she must have been in my house a good couple of hours. She even spoke to my eldest son who was at Uni at the time and asked him all about his course, she was just generally a really nice person I think.0
