Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone is doing great.
This is my first post here hoping to get some help or guidance and for that i would like to offer special thanks in advance.
I am a female whose been in an emotional/abusive relationship for almost 30yrs. I developed a lot of physical and psychological conditions and on tons of meds.
Husband always threatened to divorce but never tried to initiate and now i had no choice but to take divorce myself.
I am now homeless and all my belongings are still in my car and this is where i need a bit of guidance please. Currently i am working around 15-16hrs a week but i dont think i will be able to keep this up due to my severe health and psychological condition experiencing severe anxiety attacks and depression. I approached local council and they said that i will be able to get universal credit and have placed me on the property register but i dont know how long this is going to take. I am currently staying at my parents but things are not looking good here as my brother with his wife also lives here and i am becoming trouble and constant fights have started here as well causing severe depression where i am unable to even move my body.
I need to know how best i can prepare my case where i can get the property from council the quickest and enough supporting funds.
Let me know please if you have any further questions

Hi @far_ha welcome to the forum. Goodness your going through a lot, it's a shame your brother and his wife can't be more accepting of you, consideration your health problems and ongoing divorce.
Sadly waiting lists can take awhile, especially to them your in housing, even living with your parents. If you were on the streets, they provide you with a hostel. Or other emergency accommodation, which may not be in your area. I'll send you a link to shelter they may be able to offer you advice.

Also this link may be useful too

With help with your benefits you could claim uc and pip depending on how your health effects you. There are other benefits too that I'm not familiar with like esa. But might be best to do a benefits check on line, also have a look at benefits on gov Web site. Hope you get sorted soon1 -
The England shelter is dead to me as far as I have experienced. No way to get hold of them on phone, no way to get hold of them on web chat. Tried for 2 weeks.I’m afraid I will have no choice but to leave my parents house and this might happen even tomorrow ..I will surely be truly homeless. I just need to know how I can build a strong case as I believe I should be able to, to get the right attention, priority and care0

I have to agree with others here and being rehoused isn’t that simple. There are long waiting lists and if you’re single with no dependents then your chances are slim.
You can try looking for private landlords in your area to see what’s available.0 -
Welcome to the community @far_ha
I can see that our members have already been offering you some advice on this, which I hope has been helpful.
I've sent you an email from community@scope.org.uk to see how we can help, so please do keep an eye out for that if you can.0
