Is contacting the doctor for a PIP factual report a positive / negative or indifferent?

Hi, I’m new here; my names Tom.
I applied for pip back in September due to ramifications of ADHD and Anxiety.
I applied for pip back in September due to ramifications of ADHD and Anxiety.
My doctor, who I get on well with and is very helpful, has called me to invite me in to complete a PIP questionnaire/report that he has been sent together.
I have not heard anything else from PIP since they received my application, so I was wondering if this means they are doing a paper based review?
Does anyone know how often people are asked for GP reports? I think it’s good as my doctor was happy to support me with this anyway, before I applied. I was just worried that they send these questionnaires off when they don’t believe the applicant or something (that’s probably just my anxiety).

They rarely do contact your GP as a doctor will never fully understand the affects of the Daily Living and Mobility of a claimant unless they’re with them for a majority of time but it’s not impossible just like your case. A paper-based application is also rare but possible. The last person I know whose doctor received a form still had to complete a lengthy assessment and that was for a review. The waiting lists for assessments are quite lengthy too, something to bear in mind.
Once an assessment is completed, if needed, a decision should be made within 2-12 weeks but maybe longer due to the backlogs.0
