PIP payment once awarded

You should get any back pay before you get the letter usually around 3 to 5 days after payment is activated 

Yoy payments will then start after this 

If you call the helpline the automated message should tell you when you'd payment will be and his much this doesn't include back pay . Beware tho thus isn't always accurate

What you are awarded depends on DWP’s assessment of the difficulties you experience. Once you have received the decision letter you can challenge the decision if you disagree with it. You have to start by requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration.
