When I first started here at Scope I asked you all "Is a hotdog a sandwich?"

Well...

Now it is time for the sequel!

Is cereal a soup?

    Definately not a soup cereals are crunchy and made with milk

    No and I never would even consider it to be a soup :D

    Mind you a cream of mushroom soup has cream added in...but it’s not crunchy. Also you can eat cold soup, though it’s not as nice as cold milk with cornflakes. 

    However, if you check a cookbook you probably won’t find a cereal with milk etc under the soup section. 🤣

    Isn't tea just leaf soup?  ;)

    I could never stand soggy cereal, so at best I'd have some thick yogurt dolloped on top...pretty sure that's a long way from being classed as soup!  :D

    When I first started work at fifteen my mum, bless her, got up every morning and poured me a bowl of cornflakes with hot milk on! Yuk! Too soggy. We fell out over it actually and it was the second time she gave me a clout! That was the last time ever that she got me breakfast. ☹️

    I love hot milk on mine and all soggy but still not a soup

    I'm loving all the responses on here!  :D

    I personally wouldn't say cereal is a soup, but you do get crunchy bits like croutons in soup which is where I think the premise for this discussion started.
