Carers element has the same rules as carers allowance. The only difference is carers allowance has a maximum weekly earnings limit. If this is related to your partner when they claimed CA for looking after you then as advised in your other thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/101191/carers-element#latestThe carers element should have been included in his maximum UC entitlement. The only exception to this is when someone is claiming LCWRA for their self, they can't claim carers element at the same time. All advised in that thread.
