Private car park signage

Hi, I'm Nick Keith and I live in Winchester.
As a blue badge holder I parked my car in a disabled bay at Winchester Station CP1, with the blue badge displayed. I checked the signage and there was nothing to say that blue badge holders had to pay. I am now being pursued for payment by Apcoa Parking Ltd for £155 for "use of private car park without making a valid payment".
I'm consulting my solicitor as I'm threatened with "private criminal prosecution" if I don't pay.
Can any one advise me of their experience in dealing with such an issue?
Thank you.
Nick

Hi and welcome to the community
This hasn't happened to me but as a suggestion I would take a photo of the signage to show there were no instructions to pay0 -
Hello @NickKeith I agree with Janer's comment to take a photo of the signage. I'd also contact Winchester Station just to ask if this is something that has happened before. They may have some advice.0
