Hi, I'm Sara, I'm 55 and I have Psoriatic Arthritis. I had a flare in December 2021 and have been off sick from work since January 2022. I have exhausted SSP, and I was awarded PIP (higher rate for mobility) and ESA (support group) during 2022. I am currently still employed. My query is regarding resignation. Under these circumstances, can I resign? It shouldn't affect my current benefits, but is there any other reason I shouldn't do it? TIA! Sara

You're already claiming ESA in the Support Group so ending employment will have no affect on this. However, you shouldn't just resign from your job without first getting some expert advice from somewhere like ACAS. https://www.acas.org.uk/contact
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
While you are still employed you are accruing holiday entitlement for which your employer will have to pay you.

Your employer will at some point want a health review with you . You may be entitled to a few things that you not always aware of. Let them go through the process that they have in place . Never quit. Do that and all rights have gone. Never cut the rope , it may just hang you.
