Child disability element help

Hello all.
My youngest was awarded DLA 15 months ago and just in the last few weeks I was advised to apply for child disability element.
I applied for it and then left a message in my journal saying .. my child MF was awarded DLA on such and such date and I've been advised to apply for child disability element as per regulations.
They got in touch in a fortnight and said that special circumstances applied and she'd get her award backdated to her start DLA award.
I'm confused now.. do I wait for another letter about the total amount before it goes in my bank?
I don't want to seem impatient but my kid needs sensory stuff and that money would help do up her whole room.
Sorry if this has been asked before.
Thank you in advance.

A letter will appear on your journal that will explain amounts owed, once this appears you’ll get payment 3-5 days later. They have to recalculate your statements which can take some time. Do you receive LCWRA? If not, do you receive the Carer’s Element?

Currently I get carers allowence with universal credit.
Thank you for answering. -
Oh. I'm disabled but have been rejected PIP twice and as far as they're concerned I have a disability but I'm not disabled enough to be awarded anything like that.
I put I for my MR though. -

Carers element is part of UC and will increase your UC by £168.81/month. Providing you don’t currently receive LCWRA element for yourself because both elements can’t be paid to the same person. Does your UC include carers element?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
