@Siwheels73 Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful little girl she was. It looks like you gave her a wonderful home to live in. You were both blessed to have shared precious time together. RIP dear little Dora.1

This is my newly rescued boy❤ They said he is a GSD, but I've always had GSDs and he is a totally different build. He is about 2 years old and weighs 30kg (my past GSDs have been around 42/44kg). I'm wondering if he is a Malinois crossed with a GSD? Whatever he is, he is a beautiful little soul 😊2

GSD’s come in many shapes and sizes.Even though they shouldn’t !!!How they turn out can come from the genetics anywhere over the 5 generation pedigree.
Your boy look to me like a working line GSD, going by his colour and shape. I don’t think he looks he has Malinois in him.The age of maturity for a Female is 24mths and for a male 36 mths.
The average weight for a mature male GSD is between 30-40kg. He doesn’t look skinny but looks like he has some ‘filling out’ to do.
Generally GSD’s bone growth matures between the ages of 18-24 mths Female are usually fully mature (including filling out) by 24 mths and males (including filling out). How tall is he at the shoulder ? Males Should stand between 24-26 inches when fully mature.
At the age of 2 he could still have a bit more growth and filling out to do.1 -
@katz23 Thanks for all that info! Much appreciated!
I've never had such a small lad before😄 I will measure him tomorrow. He stands very square and, although the pic doesn't show it, his eyes are a little almond shaped (not like any of my other boys). He also has furrows running down his forhead.
He trots like a pony, which is so cute. 😍0 -
@Starlingbird I think your dog looks absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't worry too much about his pedigree, I just would be really happy to have him.1

@Starlingbird He might seem small but his weight is within range for his age. I think you might be surprise when he fully matures. Working - I bet you find he has a BIG brain and will be fun to train.
Standing square is excellent and his movement suggests good conformation. He has a lovely head and eyes.@Steve_in_The_City is absolutely right in what he says - And you are a star ⭐️ for rescuing the gorgeous lad.Enjoy your new companionship 😊❤️1 -

And yes, he is super quick to train! He already steps back if I am going through a doorway, gives me eye contact before I say "Ok" when I put his food down, immediately goes to an area and sits down if I point to it and say "Place", etc, etc. He is an absolute darling❤❤1 -

I can honestly say it took him less than 3 mins and he could even eat the paper case. Defo a birthday treat but he really deserves it.2

I'm just catching up, so sorry to hear about this @Siwheels73 I remember hearing about Dora before, she was quite a character! Hope you're doing okay0 -
This is my cat Maisie, she is six years old and I have had her since she was an 8 week old kitten. She is very loving and playful and she always cheers me up when I am struggling with my physical and/or mental health. She always seems to know when I am struggling and comes to give me a cuddle and rubs her head on me and purrs. She often sleeps with me at night and spend a lot of the day on my lap, eating or playing. She is extremely friendly and loves attention from anybody who comes into the house and even strangers in the street! She loves having her belly rubbed and will lay there for ages and she is also the only cat I have ever met who loves having her paws rubbed!5
