@katz23 GSDs are amazing dogs, aren't they? All mine have been rescues, so quite hard work in the early stages, but they have all been amazing dogs.1

Here are a couple of piccies. I have always had dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, goldfish and everything. And budgies. But I am not allowed to have animals anymore because I am disabled and can no longer look after them. I understand this. Animals really are our best friends. They seem to know when we are down and a tad blue. And then they come and snuggle up and make everything better. I lost my kitten Sam when he was 9 months old, and my dog Cleo when she was 13.4

Sorry for you losses.
Beautiful pictures - Thank you for posting ❤️
It is sad to hear that you are no longer well enough to keep pets. It sounds like you have had some lovely pets during your lifetime.
Cleo looks stunning - She appears to me to be a working line GSD ?

@Sandy_123 All of my animals have been very special to me. They have always made my life good, even the gold fish!
@katz23 Cleo was bred by the army to be black for mountain rescue work. Their black bodies can be seen against the white of the snow. GSD's are the most wonderful dogs. But the army wanted male dogs, who are perceived as being stronger than bitches. So that is how I got to get Cleo. She cost quite a lot of spondoolies (due to her pedigree) but she was worth every nickle and dime!
My first dog was Pip, I was 11 when I had him. He was a Golden Retriever. We had moved from London to Norfolk. My rabbit Pinky died, and I was screwed up about that. I used to take him to school with me. It wasn't really approved, but I wouldn't go to school unless I could take Pinky with me. So they just had to accept me and my rabbit.
Taking Pip to school was a bit problematic. I wasn't allowed to take him to school. I have no idea why you can't take your dog to school. Kids love dogs and it is really good socialisation for the dog. Anyway, they refused point blank to let me take Pip to school, so I didn't go to school for 3 or 4 years. Norfolk Education threatened me with this, that and the other. They sent multiple truant officers around. I kept telling them "when I can take Pip to school I will go to school" but they didn't listen so I didn't go to school.
These days, I accept I cannot have an animal. I cannot have a pet and that is that. Pets need to be looked after, and I can't do that anymore.

Teddybear12 said:@Steve_in_The_City Did you used to talk to the goldfish. My children won one at a fair and we all talked to it everyday, even the cat. I think he had ulterior motives.4

Just want to thank everyone for your photos off your beautiful pets, they are all amazing and made me smile.
I don’t have any pets but would love a little dog, I have bad arthritis everywhere, so struggle walking so wouldn’t be fair on a dog.
Hopefully one day.
Keep posting everyone.
Take care ❤️3 -

Wow taking your rabbit to school sounds magic!!!
I guessed Cleo was working line. A lot of working line GSD’s are either black or sable and they look totally different to random bred or show line GSD’s.
Hang on to your fond memories of your lovely animals. ❤️1 -
