The first 30 people to register will get a vegan snack box. Please note: in the spirit of sharing, we will prioritise people who have not received a snack box yet.
Registered attendees will receive a Zoom link on Sunday 12 March. Please keep this link safe, as you will need it to join the event on the day.
Event speakers
Richard Luke
Richard is Scope’s specialist Information Officer and Programme Lead for cerebral palsy, covering England and Wales
Richard supports people living with CP and their families and friends, through the online community, queries received via the Helpline or customers contacting him directly. He advises schools, G.P.s, and Universities and offers training on all things CP.
A large part of Richard’s role is staying connected with other organisations and community groups on social media platforms. Keeping the link between Scope and the CP community is vitally important and allows Scope to react very quickly to significant issues.
James Moore
James Moore is an actor and disability rights activist.
Since 2018, he has played Ryan Stocks in the ITV soap Emmerdale. This has introduced the reality of living with cerebral palsy to a prime-time audience.
He is a passionate advocate for disability rights, using his Twitter account to champion equality and speak out about the issues that matter to him.
Chloe Tear
Chloe is a 24-years-old blogger, freelance writer and public speaker.
Chloe has been writing a blog for 9 years which has followed her journey from GCSE’s to graduating university. She now continues to write disability focused content and works full-time as a Content Designer at Scope.
Chloe writes about her own experiences of disability. She had Cerebral Palsy from birth, but became visual impaired during her first year of university. Her sightloss continues to deteriorate and she’s recently been registered as severely sight impaired (formally known as blind).
When it comes to writing, Chloe is particularly interested in disability attitudes and the stereotypes that disabled people face on a daily basis.
She strives to share what it is like to be a disabled young person navigating the world of education, employment and life in general.
Karen Watson
Karen is 60 years old. She was born with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. She is a retired NHS administration assistant.
She lives on the Isle of Anglesey with her husband Chris, who is also a member of Scope. Karen and Chris love to get off in their Motorhome and they are founder members of The Weekenders Motorcaravan Club.
Karen is the Co-founder of the Facebook Group CP Adult Advice UK and is passionate about improving the services and lives of the Adult CP community.

Is this event only open to those members who have cerebral palsy or is anyone welcome to attend? I don't wish to offend anyone by attending if it is preferred to be closed.0
