i claim universal credit but get a state pension in may,i am a mixed age couple and get carers element and my wife gets lcwra.i have been told i have to claim u/c as my wife is under pension age, will i still get carers element and will my wife still get lcwra.

As you’re already claiming UC then you don’t have to reclaim it.Once you reach state pension age because your wife is under state pension age then your UC will continue. You will still be entitled to the same elements then as you are now.Your state pension will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
Have you claimed your state pension? If you haven’t then you will need to do this.0 -
