It means you'll have £150 added to your energy account. If you have a prepayment electric meter then you'll receive vouchers, or if it's a smart pre payment meter they can also just add the £150 straight onto it.

Yes it’s one payment of £150. Not sure what you mean by this.
    then what happens
I explained everything in my comment above. If you live in either England or Wales have you received a letter telling you that you qualify for the warm home discount?

I have phoned the warm home discount people, they told me that I am not entitled to it, despite being disabled, but I have dug in to this matter, they said that it’s because my neighbours houses have a good energy rating, but I know that is rubbish. I don’t own my home, my friend is not entitled to the warm home discount either, despite being disabled, and still shielding from the pandemic, she said that I have to get a EPC to get the discount, I phoned my housing association, they told me that I don’t need one, and refused to give me one. I don’t know what to do about this, the government has changed the rules, and I’m desperate to get some help.

Unfortunately, a persons disability is not taken into consideration for the WHD. The shielding rules for Covid ended quite some time ago.

Part of the new criteria for those living in England or Wales this year is the size and age of the home you live in and which benefits exactly you're claiming, it has nothing to do with a EPC rating and you don't need one of those to be entitled to it.

I can’t even claim it, I live in a 90 year old terrace house with no chance of getting this help, and I’m just desperate for help.😔

The whole system is **** in the nicest way possible. Hopefully our campaign will get heard. Here are some helpful tips and tricks I suggest,
    1. Try reducing electricity and the use of water
    2. Wear dressing gowns
    3. wrap up with blankets
    4. take the dog out for a walk
    5. have warm meals
    6. if you are cold try making yourself a cuppa
    7. some medications can make you feel cold so it might be best to speak to the GP about it?
    8. Try and find a job if you don't have one already
    9. get out and about as much as possible because public spaces will be warm.
    10. Get yourself a hot water bottle if you haven't already.
    Hope these tips help

It's automatically paid this year to those that qualify. Have you spoke to your energy supplier to see if there's any financial help they can offer? Lots of people are struggling with energy bills now.

My terraced house is 100 years old and i qualified for many years but this year i've missed out because my total house size is just under the criteria.

    Hello @Tinkersue

The Scope website has a page of information about Disability Energy Support. It is worth giving them a call or email to see if there is anyway they can help.

It’s only paid to people who are on certain benefits, which I am, but I don’t qualify for it, and I am fighting for my rights to get it by writing to my MP. I think everyone should write to their MP to be reinstated for this cash boost.

I think bringing it to the attention of your MP is a great.

The Disability Energy Support is an advice hub for people with disabilities

Claiming certain benefits isn't the only criteria this year if you live in either England or Wales. The other criteria is age and size of the home you live in and sadly not everyone on low income will qualify this year.
Unfortunately, i'm not aware of there being any appeal route either.

I do qualify for it, and I am in the U.K., so I’m not going to let this matter go, I just have to fight for it.

    Hi
Does anyone know the number for warm home discount? I rang a few DWP departments and they just give me the same number and when I ring it it disconnects. When I looked on the government website last November it said you don't need to apply if your eligible you'll receive it automatically and that it will be paid DWP to my energy supplier. I used the government calculator and it says I'm eligible but when I received my energy bill it looks I havent received it. I rang my energy supplier and they told me that they haven't received any instructions from DWP to deduct it from my bill that I'm to ring DWP which I have as mentioned above I keep getting disconnected from that number. The number is 08001078002. Has anyone experienced the same? Can anyone help me with this or give the right number for this department? I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Hi
I wish I could, I've only just learned of it, whilst been on here, reading the info.
I seem to think it's to do with the size of your house, not certain.
I've just been on the DWP website to apply, but  I couldn't say what size my house is.
I tried an alternative way on the Web site, but my energy supplier doesn't take part in the warm home discount.
Where do I go from here.??.
Sorry I couldn't help you as I need help myself.
Why oh why is everything made so difficult....
    Good luck.
