Morning. Ever since my Mum passed away in October last year,I sleep with the landing light on. I can't be in the dark. I feel lonely and scared. Is this a normal reaction? I feel stupid and childish. My cat also sleeps on my bed with me,which I find a great comfort.

Hi and welcome to the community
I am sorry for your loss everyone copes in different ways nothing is childish or silly it's whatever you feel comfortable and safe with.

@MobileGames It is 100% a normal reaction. I am so sorry about your mum. The NHS has a lot of information on Bereavement, that I think would be a useful read for you.

Grief affects us all in different ways, non of them are right non of them wrong, my mum's been gone 5 years and I've really missed her today.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Its true everyone copes differently, there is no time frame. I've always found and that's just me, I think of the happier times, plant a tree in the garden or flowers.
Seek councilling if you need to.
