hello to everyone!
if a person with spastic diplegia work out the leg muscle does it become tight?
is there a way to increase muscle mass on your legs?
do all people with spastic diplegia have skinny legs?

    Hi Miguel

    Interesting question.

I have spastic dipelgia had when i work my leg muscles they ache a lot, i have tight hamstring muscles and weak ankle muscles. I guess the best way to build them up is by exercising that's what i do, but my legs are still skinny.

I cannot speak for others with spastic diplegia but i have very skinny legs

My daughter has spastic diaplegia CP when she was younger age 4 her legs were so skinny No muscle mass. She began swimming and her physio noticed improvements before we said anything Within 6 wks.She now has average sized legs but they are bent and twisted with her CP. I think legs and muscle mass varies with every person. The leg muscles do become tight with my daughter with all other sports But the swimming helps a great deal it relaxes the muscle even though it is working hard. She went to sports camp in hols could barely walk when came home But insisted on going swimming because she knew it would help her. Good Luck.
