Hi. Can anyone tell me what would happen if I was to move in with my mum please. She receives esa support group, pip, housing benefit element etc.

I’m currently on UC lcwra… everything is a little upside down for me right now and I’m needing extra support. An option would be for me to move back home but how would this affect us both money wise etc.

thankyou.

I see from another thread that your mum claims the SDP in with her ESA, if you moved in with her the SDP would end. Unless you're claiming either PIP daily living or DLA mid/highe rate care for yourself.  See thread. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/92397/carers-allowance-and-benefits#latest
She would also lose the single person discount on her council tax. If she claims housing benefit for help with any rent this may increase because of that extra bedroom entitlement for yourself.
If you're claiming for help with any rent in with your UC, this would end.

I hope the above has helped with your query @jamrumples :)

Would you feel comfortable telling us a little more about what you mean by things being a bit 'upside down' at the moment?

    Thankyou. For responding.

My intrusive thoughts are out of control etc, I am seeking help it’s just not affective.

Am I correct in thinking that if I made my first UC lcw claim in 2017 if I am found to be no longer be eligible for the Lcwra I would still receive the lcw amount that used to be available?

And if so would I still be eligible if I had a change of circumstances in 2019? End of relationship (joint claim)

    thankyou

You are if you have LCW before 3rd April 2017. I don't think the change from joint to single claim makes any difference.

Does this count when first sending in the form or when you are found to Lcw?

    Thankyou.

If you were found to have LCW the change would apply from the start of the UC assessment period in which the decision is made.

I see, thank you for telling us about your intrusive thoughts, I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling to manage with them at the moment and that the support you receive isn't working for you. What support do you receive at the moment to help you manage your mental health? It might be worth getting in touch with your GP to talk about how you feel at the moment, and that you are struggling to manage your thoughts.

It's normal to go through periods where you have a bit of a dip in how well you are coping, but I hope that you can move forward soon and start to feel better and more in control of your thoughts. If it is of any help to you, Mind have an information page about dealing with intrusive thoughts that you can read here.

Hi, I used to be in WRA group, then went onto a joint claim (in support group) as the secondary? claimant, and finally to a single claim on (lcw) UC, should I be asking about the lcw element?
I really appreciate any & all feedback, thankyou for your time, Kind regards,  Shiva
