Good news. Whether you're entitled to SDP will depend on which ESA you're claiming and who you live with? Are you claiming Income Related ESA?Do you live alone or with other adults?2
-
With my dad and get income related ESA0
-
Thanks for sharing your good news @jasoncraig83, I'm pleased to hear you've won your appeal, that must be a big relief1

Then you'll only be entitled to Severe disability premium if your dad is either claiming a qualifying disability there self such as PIP daily living, DLA mid high rate care or Attendance Allowance or they are registered blind. If none of those apply to him then you will not be entitled to SDP.

Yeah my dad is claiming pip.how do I get it please or will I get it automatically?0

I'm very happy thankyou everyone.just waiting game now as they owe me 16 months of backdated payment the judge said.0
-
Aww congratulations I'm so happy for you and so should you.1

You'll need to wait until your PIP award is in payment. Once it is ring ESA to ask to claim the SDP and fill out the form over the phone. It's a very straight forward form and shouldn't take any longer than about 10 minutes. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.Does your dad claim any means tested benefits like Income Related ESA/JSA, Income Support or Pension credit? If so and no one claims carers allowance or carers element of UC for looking after him then he will also be entitled to the SDP.2

As this is a Tribunal decision then it can take up to about 8 weeks, sometimes longer.

Random question.does pip backdated payment go in at midnight normally or can it go in during the day?0
-
Payments don't usually go in through the day, unless it's a fast payment. BACS payments usually clear in the early hours. For my bank it's usually around 3am.
