Unexpected text from DWP

I honestly think it would work so much better for everyone if there was an online PIP journal like there is Universal Credit, alongside the phone line because there are things you could take a minute to change but you spend an hour on hold anyway

Ooh I've got no idea where I could give feedback to them, it almost seems not worth it if I have to send them another letter or if I have to ring them, if they had an email it would be a lot easier, I'm surprised that no one else has suggested an online PIP journal, considering the online service for Universal Credit which allows you to report changes of circumstances etc without needing to go to the Jobcentre or ring them, you'd think PIP would've been the slightly more accessible one in that regard..

It really is, isn't it? Although I can't exactly scream Universal Credit's praises either, especially if these reforms come in 2026-2029. The work capability assessment is a horror but I was lucky enough to have a paper-based review so I only had to fill in the questionnaire and submit evidence, didn't need to go to an in-person assessment or one on the phone, that being said, I did have to do a PIP assessment on the phone and that was dreadful, I was one of the lucky ones who got what they deserved but still there are so many problems with the PIP assessment that it can hardly be a good way for Universal Credit to decide whether people should get the 'health element'.

Yes, I'm very grateful for that, although I'm thinking of potentially doing Open Uni part time starting this year as it can't help my disability having nothing to do all day, but I just am so nervous to even mention it because they may just take all my money anyway, even though ability to study online doesn't equal capability of working but you know what the DWP are like sadly

@ririri just wanted to say I do open uni and explained it on my assessment I have disability student allowance and things that help me study and I haven’t been awarded as of yet still fingers crossed but on my report it didn’t go against me and I the assessor recommended 11 points daily and 10 mobility so don’t worry too much x

Ahhh that's really good to hear! I guess that the assessors aren't all that bad, you just don't tend to hear good stories all that often and you expect the worse
