Recebtly been awaeded two hours a week of direct payments to employ a personal assistant to help me live independetly.
trying to decide if i should employ a friend or put it on the open market? Any expeinces/syggestions on how you find the right person.

It could be a good idea to consider employing a friend as they are likely to be already aware of your needs and how to help you. However i suggest that whether you employ your friend or someone else, do the required paperwork so if the working arrangement doesn't work out, it's only the working arragement that's ended and not your friendship.
if you employ a friend you both need to consider, coping with the different roles eg employer, employee, could your friend follow your instructions or requests as your pa, are they fully aware the the role of a pa is different to being a friend.
